On 10th June 2026 David Barge was presented with a medal for being a Probus Member for 15 years having first joined Probus on 8th June 2011
On 28 th April 2026 our social secretary arranged a visit to The Bristol Aerospace Museum situated on the old Filton aerodrome where the British Concordes were built at the old BAC factory.
I had the pleasure of flying Bulldogs and Chipmunks with the Bristol University Air Squadron from the airfield. I barely recognised since it had closed as an airfield due to the redevelopment.
It was my first time at the museum, a bit slack considering my interest in aviation, but there were six aircraft there that I had not seen before.
The group found the museum interesting.
What helped was the pleasant café/restaurant.
A good day was had by all and a big thank you to Ginny our president and John our treasurer for overcoming the problems with trying to book the trip and overcoming poor booking system for group visits.
